WEEKLY REPORT - 29.9.16

Dear parents, shnattim, bogrim, bogrot, communities and friends shalom rav, In the past couple of days, Shnat Netzer took part in a Pioneers Seminar in the Negev, organized by the World Zionist Organization, the JNF and the Zionist Youth Movement' participants currently spending a year in Israel. The purpose of this seminar was to show the different Zionist enterprises in Israel, and in specific- in the Negev, which is a desert, covering 60% of the land of Israel. I surprised the Shnattim in the middle of the desert, in a place called Sd'e Boker. You may have heard of it, as it was Ben- Gurion's home, and where he is buried as well. We toured Sd'e Boler, learnt about Ben Gurion and the erea.

WEEKLY REPORT - 22.9.16

Dear parents, shnattim, bogrim, bogrot, communities and friends shalom rav, Another typical week of Shnat Netzer on Kibbutz Lotan- probably one of the last ones.... - work, pool, education, Hebrew, cooking, chilling, living in the desert. Perhaps something new this week is that some of the shnattim are now working out of the date fields, either in tourism or in the Refet- milking cows. As the High Holy Days are approaching, each week will have either a holiday to celebrate, or a special event, i.e. pioneers seminar, AZYC closing seminar etc. Wishing us all happy Rosh Hashana and a meaningful year. Weekly update from the group- The Fuzz and The Focus By Charley Katan Every so often, maybe onl

WEEKLY REPORT - 15.9.16

Dear parents, shnattim, bogrim, bogrot, communities and friends shalom rav, We hope you are well. This week we are doing a makeover to our weekly updates, which will now look even better than before! This week's update is comprehensive enough for me to relax and let you enjoy it, without adding too much :) The only addition is that this week we all got a chance to be super starts for a bit, as we were filmed for a documentary being made for the G.A. (General Assembly of North American communities) to be held in Washington D.C. this coming November. The crew travelled to Kibbutz Lotan and filmed them working in the date fields as well as conducting several interviews. We were told by the crew

WEEKLY REPORT - 8.9.16

Dear parents, shnattim, bogrim, bogrot, communities and friends shalom rav, We hope you are well. After a great and stimulating weekend seminar on the topic of socialism, the shnattim had a typical "normal" week. You can read all about a day in a life of a shnatti these days below, in the "Southern Corner". This week the month of Elul started, which is a time of repentance and preparation to the High Holy Days of Tishrei, as well as searching. Hopefully, each of us can find time to do just that, and think about the coming year. For our shnattim, who in two months' time will be on their closing seminar, it is definitely THE time of year to try and think of all the things they want to do in th

WEEKLY REPORT - 1.9.16

Dear parents, shnattim, bogrim, bogrot, communities and friends shalom rav, We hope you are well. This week has been one of the most quiet ones we had this year. As the staff of the Shnat Netzer program, we have participants in Israel at any given day of the year, as the Northerners are here October- June, and the Southerners are here February- November. So why is it so quiet here you ask? Probably because our shnattim are getting to know the weirdest hours of the day- sometime before dawn and heat waves…. Probably because they are so busy and so tired from being so busy…. Bottom line is that they are getting used to pioneering way of life, and hard work. This coming weekend, the shnattim ha
