WEEKLY UPDATE- 31.8.17

Dear parents, shnattim, bogrim, bogrot, communities and friends shalom rav, We hope you are well! The month of Elul started last week. This is the last month of the Hebrew calendar (or the 6th, depends who you ask…). It is also known as a month of forgivness and repentence, as preparation for the High Holy Days. For us at Netzer Olami and Tamar, this year was a challenging one on many levels, but at the same time, we always look at what we achieved. While we do remember that we had challenges and issues, that not everything was as great as it could have been, we also did well. Looking at the reports from recent camps, which are brought under the "International" section below, it is clear tha

WEEKLY UPDATE- 24.8.17

Dear parents, shnattim, bogrim, bogrot, communities and friends shalom rav, We hope you are well! The shnattim have safely arrived to their new and last permanent home for Shnat- Kibbutz Lotan. This part of the year is for sure the most different and unique (not that living with 15 other people your age is the norm….) for the shnattim, as it offers living in the desert, having real communal life and working in agriculture, and much more. Dear parents, shnattim, bogrim, bogrot, communities and friends shalom rav, We hope you are well! As our shnattim are all on their much needed break, I took the opportunity to take some time off myself- hense, the early email. Seems the shnattim are happy to be back in the lovely Jerusalem- if not for the amazing city itself and its spirituality, at least for the a/c flat, where most things work! In a few days, all the shnattim who went to lead on Netzer overseas summer camps, aka Tilda, Jason, Mili and Morgan, will be back with us- we are super excited!! On Sunday morning, the group will be heading to Kibbutz Lotan- a magical place, that is even hotter than Tel-Aviv, but thank God- is less

WEEKLY UPDATE- 10.8.17

Dear parents, shnattim, bogrim, bogrot, communities and friends shalom rav, We hope you are well! Today, the Tikkun period of Shnat Netzer Nof South is coming to an end. All in all, a very challenging period on many levels. Nonetheless, this was an opportunity to try new things, learn and experience. Here are a few of the things our shnattim learned in the last 6 weeks: Be proactive Enjoy small things The importance of communication Feeling comfortable within my own body It is OK to ask for help and advise How to find my own space Finding ways to feel comfortable in a not so comfortable environment Appreciating communal times The next week is a much needed break for everyone- on the shnattim

Dear parents, shnattim, bogrim, bogrot, communities and friends shalom rav, We hope you are well! Another week is coming to an end – another week of volunteering, of leading on camps, of struggling with the heat and of leading sessions for UK Israel Tours. But what was different this week? - We received Adam K.B. and Caroline back from Machaneh Chavaya!!! Yay!! It was lovely having them back, hearing some stories and anacdotes from camp! - We had Shira Appelboom- the one and only, ex- shnatti, Netzer Australia Bogeret, join us for our Yom Chinuch - The shnattim really wanted to have an outing as a group, so we took them all to the Spiderman movie - On Wednesday, the shnattim were invited to
