WEEKLY UPDATE- 30.6.17

Dear parents, shnattim, bogrim, bogrot, communities and friends shalom rav, We hope you are well, It is hard for me to find the right words this week: On the one hand- things are very quiet and peaceful. Our offices have no barefoot shnattim running around; our Northerners are home safely; our Southerners are having an interesting and unique week together, and they really enjoyed some cool activities- On the other hand- things are happening in regards to the Kotel and the Conversion Bill, and it should be anything but quiet and peaceful- So I will leave you with the below corners, where you can hopefully see and feel what has been happening here since last Thursday. Wishing you all Shabbat S

WEEKLY UPDATE- 22.6.17

Dear parents, shnattim, bogrim, bogrot, communities and friends shalom rav, We hope you are well. This weekly update is dedicated to our beloved Shnat Nof North, who are now officially ex- Shnattim. After over eight months in Israel, it is time to go home, hopefully as more mature, knowledgeable and independent people. We have high hopes and expectations from you for the years to come, and feel so very honored to have worked with you and learn from you. We wish you the very best, and hope to keep in touch! Here is a short video dedicated to you, on your last day on Shnat Netzer! This past week has been a roller-costar on so many levels- some expected, some- less so. Our Southerners headed on

WEEKLY UPDATE- 15.6.17

Dear parents, shnattim, bogrim, bogrot, communities and friends shalom rav, We hope you are well! This afternoon, Etgar and Machon ended, and in three days, the Jerusalem period as a whole will be over. As you can imagine, this is a major event for all of us- shnattim and staff alike. The level of emotions is sky high. The week on Etgar was planned and run by the shnattim. The closing ceremony of Etgar was quite heartwarming. There were a few quite moving things, especially when the Southerners sang songs to the gorgeous (and very emotional) Northerners; when the educators on Etgar said how inspired they are by the group; and most of all- when Ady and Danit said their concluding words. These

WEEKLY UPDATE- 8.6.17

Dear parents, shnattim, bogrim, bogrot, communities and friends shalom rav, We hope you are well! This weekly update is dedicated to a very special person- Maoz Haviv. Maoz is a lovely man, a brilliant educator, a talented writer, a true chalutz (pioneer) and Zionist, and he also happens to be the head of Netzer Olami and TaMaR. Maoz started his role in Netzer Olami 21 year ago- Netzer had 3 snifim (branches)- in Australia, SA and the UK; I was in grade 11; our current shnattim weren't even born. Maoz is retiring this month, and has accomplished so much during his time in our Movement. Together with many dedicated people, Maoz brought Netzer to 11 more countries; helped establish the first

WEEKLY UPDATE- 2.6.17

Dear parents, shnattim, bogrim, bogrot, communities and friends shalom rav, We hope you are well! Routine can be a bliss and can give comfort, but at times it also distracts you from important things and excitement. Luckily, on Shnat there is very little routine- if it isn't a seminar or a trip, it is a Holiday that gives us the opportunity to experience the Jewish tradition in Israel. It is a closed Shabbat for our Machonikim, allowing them to do something different and try out different styles of Shabbat (read more about this below). There is no dull moment on Shnat. This week I was lucky enough to be able to take a day out of the office, and join Etgar, as they went on a surprise overnigh
